The famous Korean fashion designer whose name is known internationally, Lie Sang Bong‘s designs has been seen on stars such as Lady Gaga and more recently, SNSD‘s Hyoyeon, Jessica, Seohyun and Yuri in ‘The Boys’ music video.

Lie Sang Bong’s S/S fashion collection was released in Seoul Fashion Week held at the Seoul Trade Exhibition Center on October 20th. KARA‘s Kang Jiyoung was starred as one of the models in his line-up, while Goo Hara was spotted in the front row of his show.

Framed with her innocent look, Kang Jiyoung transforms into a matured adult gliding through the runway in extravagant designs.

The Incheon Tourism Association hosted the third annual Incheon Korean Music Wave concert at the World Cup Stadium on August 13, 2011. The Incheon Korean Music Wave concert included performances from the hottest K-pop artists in the industry.

The artists that performed at Incheon Korean Music Wave concert 2011 included Super Junior, 2PM, Girls’ Generation, F.T. Island, INFINITE, TEEN TOP, ZE:A, 2NE1, BEAST, KARA, SHINee, 2AM, f(x) miss A, T-ara, MBLAQ, CN Blue, SG Wannabe, Secret, 4minute, SISTAR, and more.

Prior the actual concert, there was also a red carpet event where the various girl groups and boy bands strutted down. Though most of the artistes were decked in performances, check out some of the gorgeous outfits they were spotted in :

After the whimsical shoot from the girls of 2NE1, 1st Look Magazine never failed and surprised us with Goo Hara (구하라) of Kara who sheds her good-girl and sweet, feminine image with this edgy and rock-worthy look where she rocked it the shoot with bronzed-smoky eye makeup and a lot of studs. The styling was a different style from what we’ve seen from Hara but we can get used to this.

Kara‘s maknae member Kang Ji Young teamed up with Elle Girl for their July 2011 issue where she had to fly solo. Ji Young kept her look playful, youthful and adorable as she was seen sporting from brands such as Fleamadonna, Adidas and Linda Farrow. Her look is perfect for spring as the minimal make-up with a hint or rosy cheeks and wavy hair makes her look more radiant and flirty.

During the photo shoot, it was reported that Ji Young felt nervous as it was her first time doing a photo shoot solo but soon she adapt to it and the photos speaks for itself. She also shared her love of watching Korean dramas as she is currently watching MBC‘s The Greatest Love and SBS‘s City Hunter. This copy of Elle Girl is available on news stand on July 2011.

The glitz and glamor of Dream Concert 2011 red carpet took place on 28 May, 2011, at the Seoul World Cup Stadium, just before the concert itself. While most of the ladies and guys showed up in monochromatic outfits or stage outfits (which were rather disappointing), IU and Goo Hara strutted down the red carpet in mini cocktail designer dresses which were absolutely adorable.

The stars who walked the red carpet for Dream Concert 2011 include the MCs Song Joong Ki, Super Junior’s Kim Hee Chul and KARA’s Goo Hara, 2PM, After SChool, 5Dolls, Miss A, K.Will, TVXQ, Rainbow, BEAST, FT Island, f(x), SHINee, Secret, SISTAR, IU, U-Kiss, Eru, G.Na, KARA, T-ara, 4Minute, After School and Jewelry.

Jewelry members, Eunjung, Baby J, Yewon and Semi, were seen in mini dresses and lots of leather and studded details. Their platform sandals were the ones that stole the limelight- Suecomma Bonnie‘s Studded Platform Sandals and what seem like Christian Louboutin‘s Balota 120 glitter-finish multi-strap sandals (available on Net-a-Porter for USD$1095).

KARA’s Goo Hara, one of the MCs of Dream Concert 2011, was seen in Valentino‘s Embellished silk strapless dress, with an exquisitely embroidered lace and bead-embellished bodice and organza rosettes through the skirt (available on Net-a-Porter for USD$11,000).

After School, Secret, KARA, Rainbow and 5Dolls were seen in their stage oufits for the red carpet.

BEAST, U-Kiss, TVXQ, and Eru chose black smart suits for the red carpet, while SHINee, F.T. Island and K. Will added some colors and designs to their black smart casual outfits. 2PM, on the other hand, were seen with military-inspired trench coats and boots.

One of the strongholds of Korean broadcasting, home to Inkigayo — SBS held it’s 20th anniversary last August, and its red carpet was flooded with the hottest female KPop idols! In attendance were Miss A, Kara, Son Dam Bi, Secret, T-ara, BoA, and of course, the poster girls of long-leggedness — Girls’ Generation.

GIRLS’ GENERATION: The Belles of the Ball

They were the photographers’ favorite subjects, no surprise there. An image search for this event will give you 90% SNSD / Girls’ Generation! But were their red-carpet looks worthy of paparazzi? Let’s break down their looks one by one:

Sooyoung would have to be my favorite that night with her simple black skirt, textured rosette top, and black lace-up boots. Don’t you think her outfit channels Alexa Chung’s laid-back and quirky London style with a bit of girly Korean flair? It was simple, possibly not the usual glamorous, night-event outfit that the rest of her members wore, but it made her stand out in a fresh and youthful way.

Jessica was the picture of class and sophistication that night, with a ruffled white blouse and black skirt peppered with tiny studs. Classic black pumps and pulled-back hair finished the look perfectly.

The ever bubbly Tiffany toned down her look in an all-black ensemble. Her long legs were accentuated by a short, high-waisted bubble skirt and gorgeous peep-toe pumps. It would have been nice though if she had bigger accessories, or if she added a bit more texture to her otherwise monotone outfit.

SNSD’s quirky leader Taeyeon was channeling a vintage vibe on the red carpet. Her lace and chiffon dress looked dainty and classy, and her gold ribbon belt and bracelet added sparkle to her look.

Black Pearl Yuri was the only member in all-white on the red carpet, albeit the dress was disappointingly too simple. It concealed her best assets: her whittled waist and toned arms. Even the gold and white gladiator sandals did nothing for her look. But Yuri being Yuri, she still managed to look gorgeous!

Hyoyeon looked very much like a middle-school girl in this photo. I’m not just talking about her fresh, almost-bare face, but her outfit was also equally normal and lackluster. A plain white button down and a plain black skirt to a red carpet event? All she needed was a backpack and she’d be a (pretty) girl on her way to school.

I’m sorry, Yoona fans, but the poster girl of SNSD came in an inexplicably tacky outfit: an unflattering, ordinary-looking gray dress, and rhinestone-encrusted heels. Save for her fresh face, she did not exude celebrity appeal that night.

I love Seohyun on We Got Married, but this looks like a bad hybrid of Hyoyeon’s and Taeyeon’s outfit.

Three words: TOTAL FASHION BOO-BOO! The dress was too sheer, and she was totally wearing the wrong undergarments with it.

SECRET: Deja Vu?

Black and white seemed to be the running theme that night. Secret looked like a rehash of some of SNSD’s members. From left to right: Seohyun’s outfit, Hyoyeon’s outfit, Yuri’s outfit, and an almost exact replica of Tiffany’s all-black ensemble! Yikes! (And all their shoes have got to go.)

MISS A: Fierce Freshmen

The young members of Miss A rocked outfits that were a bit similar to what they were to their Bad Girl, Good Girl performances. I particularly the layering and textures in Fei’s look. One thing that they have to stop doing though: wearing nude stockings with open-toed heels.

KARA

The Kara girls were with one less member that night (Nicole). They didn’t really bring anything new — just more black and white. So far, this red carpet has proved to be very disappointing.

T-ara: A Colored Mess

Finally! A splash of color — unfortunately not done very well. The members of T-ara broke the black and white monotony of the female idols, but their outfits as individuals and even as a group were all over the place. This makes me think they didn’t have a stylist that night and all got dressed separately.

Son Dam Bi

Son Dam Bi strutted her stuff alone, but she sure brought sexy to the red carpet! This girl’s legs go on forever, and her sparkly lace bubble dress emphasized that. I particularly like her fuschia lip and youthful make-up, which toned down all the sexiness but amped up the glam. She’s definitely on my best-dressed list that night!

BOA: The original KPop Royalty is back!

And we close off the red-carpet roundup with the original KPop princess herself. The sunbae-nim to just about everybody else, BoA takes a brave leap away from the usual formulaic KPop idol style and goes for an edgy, rocker look. Her black jumpsuit was plain and simple, but she sported big, chunky earrings and a gold shell clutch. Her distinct black-and-blonde hair and back tattoo were high on impact as well. Her style is already very Westernized, don’t you think?

One of Korea’s casual brand’s ASK has recently chosen girl group KARA and Joo Won to model for the Fall/Winter 2010 collection. They definitely made it seem like it’s already winter with all the comfy and cozy attires both KARA and Joo Won are wearing.

In this shot, Ji Young, Nicole, and Goo Hara are seen with very dark make up, which gives them a very bold look. The beanie’s and hats definitely give the warm feeling you get when its almost fall or winter.

Ji Young is wearing a peach colored hoodie with a yellow plaid long sleeve on top, and pulls the whole outfit off with a fitted belt to bring attention to her slim waistline. Also the pair of bunny ears definitely add a bit of creativity to the whole outfit.

Gyuri is wearing a olive green colored long sleeve with the sparkly mickey mouse icon on it. The spiked head band gives her a punkish feel, but she doesn’t go over board with it.

Lastly, Joo Won is wearing a few jackets, and give off cooling and pleasant look. The hand mitten’s are extremely charming, and the captain’s hat really mixes up the whole outfit in a neat way.

ASK’s fall/winter collection definitely made sure you have a warm and snug feeling. To top things off, KARA and Joo Won did an incredible job modeling for ASK. Just because it’s cold weather, doesn’t mean you can’t be fashionable, you just have to embrace it, and let fall/winter come to you!

You’ve seen the men, most of them going for the beast concept or donning the classic suits — but now, let’s get the lowdown on the ladies’ performance outfits for the Dream Concert 2010!

Each year, the ladies’ performances get fiercer and fiercer, as they start shedding their cute images and experimenting with sexier outfits and consequently teasing with more skin. I’m sure the fanboys are not complaining! Who was the fiercest of them all in last night’s ball?

The girls of Rainbow went the schoolgirl route with their song, Gossip Girl.

However, they should have just kept the Blair Waldorf school girl look rather than trying to mix it up with the black and white stripes, because this only ended up making the concept/theme look all over the place. Their outfits were a bit blah and too casual for me. And for something as big as the Dream Concert, there’s really no room for safe dressing.

No change of outfit for our f(x) girls tonight, too!

Like SHINee, their male counterparts in the SM Family, the outfits of f(x) went straight from the red carpet to the stage, wearing amped-up red variations of their Nu ABO outfits. I am loving the girls’ unique, experimental style — you’ve got to admit, they don’t fit into the cookie-cutter styling of other girl groups who are all either: a) cute/girly b) fierce/sexy c) funky/Lady-Gaga-inspired.

Although, Amber? Plaid shorts over jeans? I don’t get it.

The ladies of Davichi were a tad bit underdressed.

White blazer and light denim shorts — while this outfit does look good in general — this is something you’d wear for a dinner with friends, or even to the mall. Not the Dream Concert. Note to Davichi’s stylist: that small amount of gold sequins don’t automatically make anything glamorous.

T-ara transformed into Korea’s cheerleaders that night as they performed their World Cup song.

The fanboys also loved it when they continued to sing Bo Peep in these outfits. While cheerleading outfits are a surefire crowdpleaser, they could have done more variations for every individual’s outfit other than the different pins and brooches they put on their skirts. Also, not a big fan of the huge “Cielo ♥ Egoist” print on their shirts.

Fresh off their first few comeback stages, 4Minute stuck to neutral tones tonight, but still managed to keep things interesting.

I think their stylist/s pulled off a great feat: the girls’ outfits looked mismatched and unique–but similar enough to still look coordinated. Still lacking that extra wow factor though! (Although Hyuna‘s fiery red hair and hot dance skills more than compensates for that!)

And we see a re-appearance of the black and white stripes, this time on the gorgeous women of After School.

It is very disappointing because I’ve seen versions of their drummer girl costumes which are LEAGUES better than these striped, shimmery ones. I personally would recommend their simple red-and-gold or black-and-gold ones, because these drummer outfits (and their bare navels and long legs) are stunning in themselves, and could have looked fantastic onstage.

First look at Kara and the word ‘mermaids’ would probably come to mind.

Okay, while these outfits may seem too gaudy and slinky for most, we have to remember that these are stage outfits. When you’ve got a huge crowd of fans, most of which can only see a dancing speck on stage–the flashier and shinier, the better. Kara made the boldest color choice that night, and that deserves some merit. Although yes, the mermaid-like material is disturbing, and they could have gone with black footwear.

Korea’s original pop princesses are back, but their Dream Concert appearance has me crying 2 Different Tears.

First, I’m crying for joy: I love seeing the Wonder Girls back in Korea! Second, I’m crying because of their outfits! Unflattering light denim + scraps of lace + neon hair add-ons? And this from the girl group who captured the hearts of the entire world in their all-out retro concept for Nobody! Who can forget those iconic colorful mod dresses and those scene-stealing flapper dresses?

Girls, you better step your fashion game up!

Girls’ Generation channeled the King of Pop again that night!

Their Michael Jackson inspired black military jackets with strong, sequined shoulders made the girls look classy and stunning. Their looks were made even more interesting and stage-appropriate with their shiny tank tops and leather knee-high boots. If you noticed, it was the perfect mix of their Run Devil Run and Oh! concepts.

The Queen of KPop is back and looking younger and fiercer than ever!

Really, who else at the age of 31 can pull off this outfit but Lee Hyori? Her military-inspired, tough chick outfit was simple, but nobody can doubt the powerful impression it made! An outfit, indeed, is only as good as how its wearer carries it. And nobody does it like Lee Hyori.

Overall, many of the ladies could have done a lot better. Or is the Dream Concert not as much of a big event as the year-end music festivals? What do you think? Tell us in the comments below!

KARA‘s online shopping mall, KARAYA, opened for business on the 11th of May 2010. Since Summer in Korea is coming, the girls are clad in colorful outfits and adorable accessories!

Just two months ago, girl group, T-ara, also launched their online shopping mall, T-araDot.com. Like T-ara, the KARA girls modeled for their online shopping mall clothing themselves. For this first batch of photos, only Hara, Jiyoung and Gyuri were seen posing for the camera. Nicole and Seungyeon, on the other hand, were not scene in any of the pictures on KARAYA.

Having checked out KARAYA, here are my top 3 picks for this Summer!

Firstly, a soft pastel oversized knitted sweater (modeled by Hara). Pastels are hot this season, and this lovely sweater matched with cute flirty skirts or hot denim shorts would definitely make eyes turn. [무지개 KN]

Item number 2 is this washed-out denim shirt which can be doubled-up as an outerwear (modeled by Hara). Washed-out denims are seen in many magazine photo shoots. Pair this with body-con dresses or keep it simple with a sleeveless bodysuit and shorts! [온더뮤직 NB]

The Seoul Music Awards 2010 was held on the 3rd of February 2010. Some of the ladies attendees include, SNSD (Girls Generation), After School, T-ara, KARA, Brown Eyed Girls, Davichi, Baek Ji Young, and Son Dambi.

The red carpet looks that night were AMAZING (well, mostly amazing, except for T-ara who walked the red carpet in their performace outfits!). Performance outfits should be left for the stage.

First up is So Nyuh Shi Dae in monochrome outfits:

The girls look great; especially Jessica and Yoona. Jessica‘s multi-strapped maryjanes matched her mini dress really well. I wish they could change their hairstyles though- how about all black hair for the girls?

After School‘s concept for the red carpet? Seafoam green? Though they showed cohesion with the same color scheme, their individual outfits don’t really stand out among the other red carpet attendees’ outfits.

After School girls need to have a change of hair color as well. Blonde don’t suit everyone.

I wish T-ara had worn the outfits they had worn for the sexy Arena magazine photo shoot, for the red carpet instead. Leave that cutesy cat outfits for the stage please.

Son Dambi‘s heeled boots look really great. But the dress just… looks like a lampshade. Dambi would look so much better in a bodycon dress with those boots.

My favorite look would have to be Baek Ji Young- the semi-formal dress with unique details on the back and those sparkling heels makes her look stand out among the rest of the attendees.
