Girls’ Generation Hyo Yeon, BoA and actress Chae Jung An were all spotted in the exact same printed mini dress from Epitaph Spring 2012 collection . Even though it is the same dress, all three of them matched it with different accessories and shoes; thus, giving a different look altogether.

Hyo Yeon wore the mini dress to the press conference of “Dancing With The Stars Season 2″. To inject some youth into an otherwise darker look, Hyo Yeon opted for a pair of bright yellow platform pumps and kept her accessories to the minimum.

BoA was seen gracing the cover of a recent High Cut Korea issue in this Epitaph dress. Together with her dark flowy locks, smokey make-up, buckled cuff bracelets and a pair of studded platform pumps, I would have to say BoA rocked this look.

Chae Jung An was spotted in this exquisite piece at Epitaph launch party in March this year. Matched with what seems like an Alexander McQueen knuckle clutch with a studded cuff and platform pumps, Chae definitely looked like she just walked off a high fashion magazine page.

Girls’ Generation member Jessica‘s 2012 lookbook as well as behind-the-scene footage for Korean fashion brand Coming Step was released awhile back. Featuring Jessica on the streets of New York looking effortlessly chic, the lookbook consists of looks that are simple to put together yet give a polished impression.

While it is difficult to say which my favorite out of the lot (Jessica looks amazing in all of the looks!), I must say that she carried off the bright green oversized blazer with those hot pink shoes really well.

The night was young and abuzz when Ko Tae Yong‘s Beyond Closet F/W 2012 Collection opened the Music and Men’s Fashion Week 2012 Korean Night at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore.

Introducing bright, young colours into classic preppy designs, Beyond Closet was one of my favourites of the night. It was simple yet sophisticated, classic yet fun – the pieces were clothes every guy can pull off, and would look good in.

Which is your favourite outfit? (My favourite has to be the last photo, with the blazer and checkered tee around the waist!)

Still remembering the approachable and in-your-face frankness of Beyond Closet‘s Ko Tae Yong during last year’s Blueprint interview, it was a real pleasure to see him back again in a year’s time and remembering me. Practically I have more or less spent most time at his booth.

Seen again with New York-based IDIEL Showroom manager Richard, who also represents the entire line-up of Korean designers showcasing at the ‘Korean Night’ on 19th April 2012 at Music and Mens’ Fashion Week 2012, he became the fresh opening to start the night’s schedule. Interviews were held the day before, and he summarized his AW12 collection to be “a mix of sports and classic, where the genre is ‘Sports Day’.”

Like his witty personality as usual, and as ‘whatever will be, will be, as long as it will be liked by everyone’ attitude, he designs without setting any boundaries. “My wearer has no boundary; everyone can wear.”

Nodding in agreement to the one-word summary of his friend and designer Choi Bumsuk of GENERAL IDEA (see interview soon!) that his designs are luxury street-wear, this definition beseems fairly correct with what Beyond Closet is directed. His designs are nothing to not like; like he said, literally anyone can bring a piece of him to any wardrobe.

Like peas in a pod, the two designers who were jointly interviewed reflected the same style – both game in their way of presenting color without overtly being used, and sharing the same sensibility of minimal layering with maximum impact. Besides concurring again to the list of inspirations Choi shared, he added the heads and tail for the collection that was just presented yesterday: “I take most inspiration from street style, and baseball jerseys. I made these jerseys into my own kind.”

A quick glance at the entire collection line-up seen from his backstage snapshot that reminds you of Indian gear, with indian-brick red and varsity navy blue hues – it is what is mostly seen vibrantly spot-on either in New York, or Seoul. The headbands pulls off the look; it would only need a a pair of feathers placed on each side and you’d have a modern Indian-varsity style.

A very Seoul-lite flair is apparent in the collection: the use of at least over five different color tones assembled in color-blocking and the usual awkward-turn-quirky tapered lengths of pants which as become a usual staple and style element. One thing caught my eye, however – using the most ‘iconic fashion pieces’ from the Korean entertainment culture – sports trainers, done in preppy colors and tartan, under pair of shorts, and incorporate them into his utilitarian design makes a statement that trainers can be part of a fashion runway and not reserved for home or gym – properly tailored, of course. As his clothes are unbounded with any genres, there is potential in the Asian market, it definitely can be appreciated with its strong with his diffusion of masculinity in an effortless approach.

And that pretty much sums up Beyond Closet by Ko.

Lee Hyori and IU were both spotted in the same embroidered peplum mini dress from designer Manish Arora.

Lee Hyori was seen wearing the Manish Arora embroidered peplum dress in the February issue of Harper’s Bazaar magazine while IU wore the same piece for the Gaon Chart K-Pop Awards 2012 red carpet.

While Hyori revealed her feminine and sexy side by just wearing the mini dress itself and pairing it with matching pink wedges, IU showed a cute and flirty image by opting for a cream tulle skirt and nude platform pumps.

The dress was first shown last September for the Fashion Week in Paris during Manish Arora’s Spring/Summer 2012 ready-to-wear collection fashion show.

After you ponder about who wore it better, you can now get their pretty peplum looks for less! Peplum tops, dresses and even jackets are gaining popularity slowly yet surely. Seen in almost every high-street brands, this trend might not be a favorite among the masses but it’s definitely one that will make you stand out because it is a bit like a costume, fun and most of all, shows off a nice hourglass figure.

When choosing your peplum pieces, get something that is more sculptural for a sharper and more figure-embracing look. Pair it with pencil skirt, bodycon mini skirts, tailored shorts or skinny trousers and you’re good to go!

4Minute’s Gayoon, Jiyoon, Hyuna and Sohyun are back in the latest issue of Nylon Korea with a soft, romantic image. The white sheered chiffon dresses used in the photo shoot brought out the image of the slowly fading winter and the approaching Spring.

The simplistic photo shoot with a slightly blue coloring also brought out a melancholic feel.

The white, lace and floral outfits add a girly image to 4Minute. My favorite picture has definitely got to be Hyuna‘s solo picture, as it looks as if she has cropped hair, and it makes her look young and innocent. The dress is also really perfect!

On 3 March, B2ST (BEAST) was back in Singapore for the highly-anticipated world tour, ‘Beautiful Show’ which was held at Max Pavilion, Singapore Expo. Singapore was their fourth stop after captivating fans from Seoul, Berlin and Shanghai.

The members of B2ST, consisting of Yoon Doo Joon, Yang Yo Seob, Yong Jun Hyung, Son Dong Woon, Lee Ki Kwang and Jang Hyun Seung blew away ‘Beauties’ with their group and individual acts during the concert.

They performed a total of 24 songs including hits like “Bad Girl”, “Special”, “Shock”, “Beautiful”, “Breath” and “Fiction”.

Their solo performances consisted of Jun Hyung’s “Living Without You” and Hyunseung’s “Don’t You Mind” and duet performances included Doo Joon and Dong Woon’s “When The Door Closes”, Jun Hyung and Yo Seob’s “Thanks to” and also Ki Kwang and Hyun Seung’s “Let It Snow”.

It was also an unforgettable night for a lucky fan-girl who got chosen to be B2ST’s date during their performance of “You”. Many other fans were jealous as the members treated her like a “real girlfriend” as Doo Joon rode on a bicycle to pass her a teddy bear, Dong Woon gave her a bunch of balloons and the other members also sang and rapped to her.

The members of B2ST also crazed the fans when Jun Hyung said he usually cannot express his feelings and Yo Seob told him to say “I love you” and do a heart sign to the fans and he did both of them.
